Juli Jurgens grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She started playing handbells at her church, Westminster Presbyterian, in middle school and continued in High School with the Westminster Celebrity Ringers touring each summer across the United States to share the beauty of handbells with other churches. She was a member of the Westminster Carillon adult handbell choir from 2002 through 2021 when the group disbanded due to covid. She has also played the piano and violin, and been a member of the Spitfire Fiddle Band.
During the day, she is the Supervisor of the Office of the CIO Java Web Team at the State of Nebraska. She is married with two adult daughters who both also enjoy ringing handbells and violin. Her current hobbies include trialing in nosework with her Australian Cattle Dog Kaiser and the other family dogs Cuda, Zuki and Hiccup, teaching nosework classes, and judging at nosework trials.
