Patty Butler’s musical background is piano, and her first teachers were the nuns from her Catholic elementary school. When her family moved to Chadron, NE, she began taking lessons from the talented and highly recommended Donna Butler, who just happened to be the mother of Curt Butler, Patty’s future husband and member of Bell-issimo. Patty began her handbell career at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, where she had to learn that she wasn’t supposed to try to play all the notes. She has been a member of Bell-issimo since it began and has participated in many handbell workshops and festivals. Patty looks forward to rehearsal evenings as one of the highlights of her week…working in an ensemble to produce beautiful music is energizing and satisfying. In her regular life, Patty is a medical technologist at Bryan Medical Center East, a travel planner for Disney destinations, and grandmother to three of the most amazing and fun children on earth, who get to go to Disney World a lot so Grandma can do research.
